發生過的事情會永遠停留在發生的片刻,永存於當下時空的切片,即便無人再見、無物可存、無聲可尋、無人再記、無人語論,又甚是分崩離析或面目全非;萬事萬物終將會迎來一次結束、一次衰敗,惟有當刻永恆不變,只有一次,亦僅有一次,就在那地存證,無力量可改變。

此作品中,我使用大量的火柴作為行為的工具,利用火柴的使用特性,以摩擦的聲音、燃燒時一瞬的光芒和熱力產生的煙霧,透過不斷重覆刻劃的動作,試圖留下記認的痕跡和證據,由此重現、一直彌留於上一個瞬間,又與新創造的下一個瞬間重疊,如此不斷往返。

於漆黑的環境中,鏡子的設置將對應影像轉瞬明暗的特性。觀者在參與進入作品同時,能在一瞬的光中透過鏡子短暫顯現影子的輪廓以觀照自身,一同進入記認的輪迴之中。

What has happened will stay right there in that moment forever, in that slice of time. No matter if it’s not seen, not heard, not remembered, not said, nothing left, or even it’s become unrecognizable or has fallen apart, it will come to an end. Everything will decay eventually. Only that current moment will remain there eternally, for once, and only for once, it remains there firmly, and no force could ever influence it.

In this piece of work, I use a large number of matches as a tool of my performance. Using the characteristics of matches, the sound of friction, the momentary lighting and the smoke of heat generated by  burning. I try to make a mark of traces and evidence in time-base through this repeated action, for reappear and remain the previous moment, and overlap with the next moment simultaneously, thus to and fro constantly.

The setting of the mirror correspond to the characteristics of the instantaneous brightness and shade of the image in the dark. While the audiences participate in the work, they will observe and focus on themselves, by the mirror briefly show their outline of shadow through the momentary lighting. Therefore, and enter the cycle of reappear and remain unknowingly.
